Vincent Janssen not wanted by Fenerbahce

Not wanted

Vincent Janssen is not wanted by Fenerbahce and a permanent move is off.

The Turkish giants are reported to have taken Vincent Janssen off of their transfer target list for the summer after a series of unimpressive performances from the Dutch forward.

Janssen was loaned out to Fenerbahce from Tottenham in the beginning of the season and had made a good start to life in Istanbul by scoring on his debut. Since then however, the 23-year-old has failed to build on that performance. Lackluster appearances and a lack of goals have caused the Fenerbahce staff to re-asses their options. The Dutch national managed to score just 2 goals in 16 appearances.

To make matters worse, Vincent picked up an injury in December while playing against Bursaspor and has been out of action since. Turkish media have dubbed the scenario the “Robin Van Persie syndrome” after the Feyenoord striker’s unsuccessful stint at Fener.

Tottenham are also reported to want to offload the young forward however no club has declared interest as of yet.
