Fenerbahce want Inter left-back Federico Dimarco

The Yellow Canaries have switched transfer targets after failing to sign AC Milan left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

Fenerbahce football club continue to look for their first signing in the January transfer window. The latest name on their transfer shortlist is Inter left-back Federico Dimarco.

The Turkish Super Lig powerhouse have sent scouts to Italy to assess the player as they push for a transfer before the window closes.

The club’s vice-president Semih Ozsoy is part of the group of club officials that have traveled to Italy to conduct transfer talks regarding the player.

Fenerbahce, with a budget of roughly 10 million Turkish Lira for transfers in January (approx. €1.5 million) are planning for an initial loan transfer with the option to buy.

Another player the Turkish are considering is Caykur Rizespor’s Dario Melnjak.

Fener are wiling to offer midfielder Alper Potuk in exchange for the 27-year-old Croatian thereby hoping to avoid paying a transfer fee.

Melnjak, who joined Caykur Rizespor for €60,000 from Slovenia’s NK Domzale in January 2019, has impressed with his performances for the Northeastern club.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce are also preparing to part ways with multiple players in their squad as they need to reduce their financial losses.

Defender Adil Rami continues looking for a new club with the latest suitor reported as English Championship side Derby, coached by former Fenerbahce manager Phillip Cocu.

Midfielder Tolgay Arslan is also no longer wanted by Fener coach Ersun Yanal and has been told he is free to leave the club.

Alper Potuk and Miha Zajc, for whom there have been multiple suitors from Italy, are both headed for the exit.
