Roma’s wonderkid Cengiz Under continues his meteoric rise in European football after he made his debut in the Champions League tonight against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Turkish wonderkid Cengiz Under is making headlines again in Italy and Turkey after his excellent performance in the Champions League tonight. The 20-year-old right winger was in the starting line-up as he made his Champions League debut against Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk. As if that wasn’t enough, the youngster also managed to score a goal on his debut after a defense-splitting pass from his teammate Edin Dzeko. The goal put Roma 1-0 in front in the 41st minute however things turned sour for the Italian outfit in the second-half as they eventually succumbed to a 2-1 loss.

Cengiz Under also set another record for Turkish football tonight; he became the youngest Turkish player to score in the prestigious Champions League. The Turkish hotshot has been performing at a very high level since his move to Roma from Basaksehir last summer for a cool €13.4 million transfer fee. So far, he’s managed to live up to the expectations and there is no telling how far he will go.

Roma splashed the cash on the youngster and it seems their due diligence is paying off. Top clubs from around Europe have set their sights on the Turkish wonderkid and are closely monitoring his development.
