Kenneth Omeruo to leave Kasimpasa after loan ends

Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo is set to leave the Apaches after his second loan spell to return to London.

Kenneth Omeruo has appreciated Kasimpasa ahead of his return to parent club Chelsea.

The Nigeria defender spent the entire 2017-18 campaign on loan at the Turkish Super Lig outfit, and made 28 league appearances, scoring a goal in the process.

And following his side’s last home game of the season – which they won 3-1 against Genclerbirligi on Saturday – the 24-year-old has lauded the efforts of his teammates, coach Kemal Özdes and the entire club setup.

The Apaches play their final encounter of the campaign against Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday, and they stand the chance of finishing sixth [with 49 points] in the log should they win against their title-chasing hosts, and results in other match centers end in their favour.

“I want to say a big thanks to players, staffs, and management of Kasimpasa for believing in my abilities as a player…and the coach for helping me achieve my personal goal this season,” Omeruo wrote on Instagram.

“I am grateful and wish this amazing club a much better position next season.”

Although been with Chelsea since 2011, Omeruo has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Blues.

he former Nigeria youth international has been farmed on loan ever since his switch to the club. And he has enjoyed stints at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Alanyaspor and Kasimpasa [twice].

In the summer of 2017, he was committed to a new three-year deal at the Stamford Bridge outfit.

The centre-back was included in the Super Eagles’ provisional 30-man squad, released on Monday, for the World Cup and will be hoping to make Gernot Rohr’s final 23 ahead of the big summer in Russia.
