Kasimpasa manager Tayfur Havutcu resigns

After a heavy 6-0 loss to Trabzonspor on the weekend, Kasimpasa have parted ways with Turkish coach Tayfur Havutcu.

Turkish Super Lig outfit Kasimpasa have announced the resignation of manager Tayfur Havutcu on Sunday evening.

Just before midnight on Sunday, Kasimpasa released a statement made by Havutcu on their official website.

“I have resigned from my position at Kasimpasa Sports club, where I was honored to be a member while I was working. I would like to thank the sports community and Kasimpasa management, especially the supporters of Kasimpasa. I wish Kasimpasa success in their upcoming games,” the statement made by Havutcu read.

Sources close to the club say the team’s heavy 6-0 loss to Trabzonspor just hours prior was the final nail in the coffin for Havutcu.

The 49-year-old German-born coach was appointed as Kasimpasa manager in December 2019 but has barely managed to last just a month as the pressure to save the club from relegation continues to rise.

In the five league games Havutcu was in charge of, he managed one victory and four losses.

Kasimpasa are facing the real threat of relegation from the Turkish Super Lig this season as they sit in 16th place with 15 points – just one point away from the relegation zone.

The club have recently parted way with eight players as they try to ensure their survival in Turkey’s top flight.
