Trabzonspor striker Dame N'Doye leaves for FC Copenhagen

Senegalese forward Dame N’Doye has joined Danish giants FC Copenhagen on a free transfer.

Sengal international Dame N’Doye has left Trabzonspor after his contract expired and within a few days has found a new club. The 33-year-old has inked a one-year contract with the Danish club.

Dame will be in familiar surroundings in Denmark where he spent 4 successful years with FC Copenhagen, becoming a fan favorite. He scored over 80 goals and made 150 appearances between 2009 and 2012 before being sold to Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2012.

Speaking in front of Danish media, he said;

“I left Copenhagen as the top scorer and I’ve played for Lokomotiv Moscow, Hull City, Sunderland and Trabzonspor. I learned different things in every country. I scored everywhere. The teams I played as a striker for, I scored many goals. At Trabzonspor last season I played on the wings and I only managed to score 5 goals and 5 assists. I’m not a winger, I’m a goal scorer. Our manager Stale Solbakken knows this.

“I’ve returned to a club that is close to my heart. I’m 33 years old and this could be old for some players. However, I’m stronger and better than ever before. I need Copenhagen and Copenhagen needs me.”

The club confirmed the signing on their social media accounts today.
