Galatasaray scouting Norwegian youngsters

Galatasaray scouting Norwegian youngsters, Erik Botheim

The Lions are scouting Norway for promising talent as they look for youngsters from abroad.

Galatasaray have been scouting several youngsters in Norway as they look to sign young promising players on the cheap instead of splashing millions on transfers. Some of the players are Erik Botheim and Jonathan Levi who play for Norwegian giants Rosenberg, and Runar Esperjord, a Swedish player, currently playing for Tromso.

Erik Botheim and Espejord, 18 and 22 years old respectively, are both strikers where as Jonathan Levi is a 22-year-old attacking midfielder.

The current Turkish Lira to Euro exchange is hurting clubs in Turkey and clubs are looking at ways to reduce spending. As of today, 1 Turkish Lira is about €0.18 Euro cents. TO put things in perspective, €1 million is around 5.5 million Turkish Lira.

Galatasaray’s assistants Umit Davala and Necati Ates are keeping tabs on these players and are reporting their findings to the club’s manager Fatih Terim. The former players, now part of the backroom staff at Cim Bom, are reported to have watched Erik Botheim in the Rosenborg-Tromsö match on July 7th.
