Istanbul Basaksehir eliminated from Europa League

The Super Lig side were defeated in extra time and said good bye to this season’s Europa League.

Istanbul Basaksehir couldn’t find a way past English Premier League outfit Burnley on Thursday evening during the second leg of the tie in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

Like the first game, the score was 0-0 after 90 minutes. The game went into extra-time and in the 97th minute, Burnley took the lead via Jack Cork to make it 1-0 and hold on for the win.

Interestingly, there were no away fans at Turf Moor due to Basaksehir deciding not to sell any tickets for the return leg in England.
