Basaksehir extend undefeated streak to 16 in TSL

The Super Lig title contenders defeated Yeni Malatyaspor 4-1 at home to remain undefeated in 16 games this season.

Istanbul Basaksehir started off the new year on a positive note after their 4-1 home victory over Yeni Malatyaspor on Saturday.

The homeside, managed by Okan Buruk, had the game wrapped up in the first 45 minutes as they went 4-0 into the half-time break without being tested much.

Goals from former Chelsea striker Demba Ba, winger Edin Visca, forward Irfan Can Kahveci and midfielder Mahmut Tekdemir ensured Basaksehir’s dominance by the 41st minute.

The visitors found a consolation goal through their striker Adis Jahovic in the 64th minute of the second half.

Basaksehir’s victory sees the team remain undefeated in 16 league games (10 wins and 6 draws) under the guidance of Turkish coach Okan Buruk.

Basaksehir are keeping pace with league leaders Sivasspor as they remain close behind in second place with 36 points — four points behind Sivasspor.
