Nwakaeme: I want to score against Fenerbahce, too

The Black Sea Storm’s new signing has set his sights on scoring against Fenerbahce.

Trabzonspor left winger Anthony Nwakaeme spoke to reporters ahead of his team’s Super Lig clash with Konyaspor this Sunday.

The 29-year-old revealed his idol growin up was Ronaldinho, the former Barcelona legend.

“The greatest player I’ve ever seen, watched and that’s ever walked is Ronaldinho. When I saw him for the first time on the internet I wanted to cry. Because for a human to do what he does with the ball seems impossible,” he explained.

The Nigerian star also said he is happy to play alongside another fellow Nigerian, Ogenyi Onazi.

“It’s important to be with him. He’s like my brother.”

The recently transferred from Israel player said he hopes to score against Fenerbahce just like he did against Galatasaray during his team’s 4-0 thrashing of the Istanbul club in the last round of Super Lig fixtures.

“It was very important to score against an important team such as Galatasaray. The first goal is important. I will always remember it. I would like to score against every team. Also against Fenerbahce,” he said.

He wrapped up his answers by sharing his thoughts on the Turkish top flight.

“It’s a competitive league. That’s how it’s seen from abroad. Every team has the chance to become champions.”
