Akhisarspor lose in Europa League debut

Akhisarspor lost against Krasnodar

Akigo were unfortunate to not walk away with at least a point in their first ever Europa League appearance.

Super Lig minnows Akhisarspor was defeated by Russia’s Krasnodar 1-0 in their first ever Europa League match on Thursday.

The away side scored the games’ only goal in the 26th minute. Forward Viktor Claesson found the back of the net witha low strike.

Akhisar had qualified for the Europa League as 2017/18 Turkish Cup winners, while Krasnodar finished fourth in Russia last season.

In a fairly even duel, the Turkish outfit created several good chances but failed to make them count.
