Fenerbahce close to announcing new manager

Fenerbahce in talks with Ersun Yanal

The Yellow Canaries have found their new coach, according to sources close to the club.

Fenerbahce have conducted positive meetings with Turkish coach Ersun Yanal, sources close to the club have revealed.

The 56-year-old coach, who is currently unemployed, has spoken with the club’s representative Semih Ozsoy who is negotiating on behalf of Fenerbahce.

It is reported that Yanal wants a one-and-a-half year contract to take over as manager while the club are looking to offer him a six-month deal initially.

The initial meeting has been positive, according to club insiders, however, the final decision will be made by the club’s president Ali Koc, who is currently abroad.

If Koc gives the green light, Fener could make the announcement in the coming days.

Yanal has managed Fenerbahce once before, during the 2013/2014 season, when he guided the club to the Turkish Super Lig title. He had left the club the following summer after he had disagreements with the club’s administration.
