Basaksehir sell defender Manuel Da Costa to Al-Ittihad for €4m

The Super Lig leaders have parted ways with defender Manuel Da Costa.

Istanbul Basaksehir have sold their centre-back Manuel Da Costa to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad, the club confirmed on Saturday January 5.

The 32-year-old has inked a two-and-a-half year contract with his new club, who have forked over €4 million for the transfer.

The Morocco international joins former Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic, who is struggling to get a win. The Arab club are second last in the league with just 6 points after 15 games.

The Super Lig club have made a decent profit from the deal. Da Costa joined Basaksehir in July 2017 for €100,000 from Greek powerhouse Olympiacos.

This season he made 12 league appearances during which he scored 3 goals and assisted 1.
