Leicester City winger signs for Sivasspor

The Mali winger will spend the second half of the season with the Super Lig side.

Sivasspor have signed Leicester city winger Fousseni Diabate on a six-month loan, the club announced on Thursday.

According to the club’s statement, the Super Lig club have reached an agreement with the Premier League club for Diabate, agreeing to loan him until the end of the current season.

The 23-year-old arrived in Turkey today where he passed the necessary medical exams at Medicana Hospital in Istanbul.

Club president Mecnun Otyakamaz praised the player’s qualities as he sat alongside their newest signing.

“We think Diabate will make a very important contribution to our team. There is a possibility to extend his stay beyond the end of the season,” he said.

The new signing expressed his satisfaction with the transfer to Sivasspor.

“I’m proud to be here. I will do everything I can. I think I deserve the Sivasspor jersey,” he said.

After their speeches, the Mali international signed his formal contract and posed for photos.

Diabate made 6 league appearances this season for the English Premier League club during which he scored 1 goal.

He joined Leicester City from GFC Ajaccio in January 2018 for €2 million.
