Serdar Aziz buys out contract, joins rivals Fener

The Turkey international has terminated his deal with Galatasaray after falling out with the club’s management.

Serdar Aziz has made a U-turn on the second last day of the January transfer window after claiming publicly just days prior that he would remain a Galatasaray player until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has terminated his deal with The Lions by buying out his contract for €2.3 million. Galatasaary revealed the departure on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Wednesday evening.

In Turkish: The contract between our professional footballer Serdar Aziz and our company has been terminated mutually. Accordingly, the player will pay the amount of € 2,300,000 to the Company as compensation for mutual termination.

On Wednesday evening, Aziz was seen with his manager Haluk Canatar arriving at arch rivals Fenerbahce’s facilities where he signed a three-and-a-half year contract.

English club Fulham FC were reported to have made an offer to sign the Turkish centre-back for €2.4 million but due to their predicament in the Premier League Aziz has decided against moving to the London club.
