Fatih Terim wins compensation case against TFF

The Turkish coach has been awarded 5.1 million Turkish Lira for being sacked “unfairly.”

The lawsuit between Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim and the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) was finally settled on Friday, April 12, after the Court of Appeals issued the final ruling in the case.

The 65-year-old was in charge of the Turkish national team from 2013 until 2017 when he was released from managerial duties by the TFF after a brawl with a restaurant owner in the resort town of Cesme, Turkey in the summer of 2017.

On July 26, 2017, the TFF announced their decision to sack the accomplished coach who filed a lawsuit against the TFF, claiming his contract was “unfairly” terminated and loss of compensation totaling 12.9 million Turkish Lira (TL).

According to the Istanbul court’s decision on Friday, Terim is entitled 5.1 million TL.

The TFF has appealed the court’s decision.
