Erzurumspor sack coach after relegation

The Eastern club have dismissed their coach less than week after their relegation was confirmed.

Erzurumspor have parted ways with coach Hamza Hamzaoglu, the Turkish club announced on Wednesday evening.

The club’s president Huseyin Unes announced their decision during a press conference held in Erzurum where he thanked Hamzaoglu for his services.

“Whether this situation is good or bad will be evaluated. Everyone may have different expectations. We parted ways with Hamza Hamzaoglu. We would like thank him for his services to the club,” Unes said.

“Where one likes it or not can be debated but his career is obvious. He is one of the few Turkish coaches who has experienced winning the Super Lig. If he had luck in the final games, maybe with 3 points things would have been very different. We thank for his services and wish him success in his career,” the president added.

Erzurumspor are now looking for a coach who will be able to get them promoted back to the Super Lig during the upcoming season in Turkey’s second division.
