Aston Villa sign Kasimpasa winger Trezeguet

The Egyptian international has left the Istanbul club to continue his career in the English Premier League.

English Premier League club Aston Villa announced the signing of Mahmoud Hassan, known as Trezeguet, from Turkish Super Lig outfit Kasimpasa on Wednesday.

According to the official statement released by the club on their website, the player’s transfer is subject to a work visa and international clearance.

“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Mahmoud Hassan for an undisclosed fee, subject to a work visa and international clearance.”

The club’s manager Dean Smith praised the player for his abilities.

“He is the type of wide player that we have been looking for who is direct, causes problems for the opposition in the final third and scores goals,” Smith said.

Though the transfer fee has been kept under wraps, reports in Britain suggest Aston villa paid the Turkish football club £8.75 million for the player.

Since joining Kasimpasa at the beginning of the 2017-18 season, the 24-year-old has impressed with his consistent performances. He was regularly linked with a move away from the Turkish Super Lig last season including a transfer to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Overall, Trezeguet made 71 appearances for Kasimpasa during which he scored 25 goals and made 18 assists.
