Bakary Sako transfer to Denizlispor falls through

The Mali international’s transfer to the newly promoted Super Lig club has been called off after the two parties failed to agree to terms.

Turkish Super Lig newcomers Denizlispor have announced the transfer of former Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako has been called off.

The announcement was made on Thursday by the Turkish club on their official website.

According to the statement released by the club, the two sides were unable to agree on the financial terms of the deal.

“An agreement was reached between Bakary Sako and our club last week and this information was announced by an official statement from our club. The player came to Denizli but the transfer has been abandoned due to the fact that an agreement could not be reached with the player nor his agent on the financial matters,” the statement read.

Sako is reported to have asked for a higher salary than initially agreed upon during the initial stages of negotiations which were reported to have been successful.
