Galatasaray loan Steven Nzonzi from AS Roma

French midfielder Nzonzi has joined The Lions on loan until the end of the 2019-2020 season.

Galatasaray have signed midfielder Steven Nzonzi on a season-long loan from AS Roma, both clubs announced on Friday.

The World Cup winner will spend the 2019-2020 season with Galatasaray, who have the option to make the transfer permanent for €16 million.

The club also have the option to extend the loan for another 12 months — until June 30, 2021 — for €500,000. If Galatasaray extend the loan for another season — until June 30, 2021 — the transfer fee to make the loan permanent will be €13 million.

Galatasaray will pay Nzonzi €3.25 million for the duration of his loan but have managed to sign the player without paying Roma a loan fee.

The 30-year-old made 39 appearances for the Serie A club last season.
