Ricardo Quaresma leaves Besiktas for Kasimpasa

The Portuguese winger, known as Q7 in Turkey, has ended his time with The Black Eagles and joined city rivals Kasimpasa.

Turkish Super Lig minnows Kasimpasa have pulled off arguably their biggest transfer in recent years after announcing the signing of Ricardo Quaresma from Besiktas on Thursday.

The Istanbul club announced the winger has joined the club on a one-year deal with an optional one-year extension, known as 1+1 in Turkey.

The 35-year-old’s departure from Besiktas is no surprise after months of rumours regarding a conflict between the player and Besiktas president Fikret Orman.

Besiktas had announced earlier this week that Quaresma was left out of the club’s squad for the remainder of the 2019-2020 Super Lig for undisclosed reasons. The Portuguese winger, however, took to his official Instagram page and claimed that Fikret Orman did not want him in the team anymore and was forcing the player towards the exit.

Collectively, Quaresma spent almost eight seasons with The Black Eagles in two separate stints and was a fan favourite despite backroom conflicts with the club’s administration.
