Kevin-Prince Boateng joins Besiktas on loan

The Black Eagles have added former AC Milan forward Kevin-Prince Boateng to their squad until the end of the season.

Former Barcelona and AC Milan forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has joined Besiktas football club on an initial loan until the end of the 2019-2020 campaign.

The Turkish Super Lig club have completed their second signing of the January transfer window in the final hours of the last day of the window on Friday.

Despite their financial constraints, the club have managed to pull off a star signing in typical Turkish football fashion in order to appease their fans.

The 32-year-old has joined Besiktas from Fiorentina on a an initial short loan, however, the deal includes an optional one-season extension should Besiktas feel they require the player’s services for a longer period.

Besiktas announced the transfer on Friday via their official Twitter account.

“Our club has reached an agreement with Fiorentina and Kevin-Prince Boateng for the player’s loan with our squad until the end of the season,” the statement released by the club read.

Boateng has been assigned the number 99 uniform in the first team.

With his transfer to Besiktas, Boateng has played for an incredible 14 clubs during his professional career including the likes of Tottenham, Barcelona, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04.

He was seen arriving in Istanbul on Friday evening and hurried away from Istanbul Airport to the club’s facilities to complete his transfer.
