Mbaye Diagne rejects Anderlecht, joins Club Brugge

The Senegal international will spend the 2019-2020 season with the Belgian football club Club Brugge.

Galatasaray have announced on Sunday evening the transfer of their striker Mbaye Diagne to Belgian football club Club Brugge on an initial one-year loan.

Diagne traveled to Belgium over the weekend to finalize his transfer to Anderlecht, however, a last minute offer from Club Brugge has seen the striker call off his move to Anderlecht and join their rivals Club Brugge instead.

Club Brugge will pay Galatasaray a loan fee of €3.35 million and will have the option to make Diagne’s loan permanent in exchange for €13 million before June 30, 2020.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge were also closing in on another signing from the Turkish Super Lig; Papis Cisse from Alanyaspor.

Despite Cisse and Club Brugge agreeing to terms, Alanyaspor have blocked the transfer from happening which meant Club Brugge were unable to complete a deal for Papis Cisse.
