Galatasaray loan Leipzig left-back Marcelo Saracchi

The Lions have struck a deal with the Bundesliga outfit for their Uruguayan left-back Marcelo Saracchi.

Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray have successfully negotiated a transfer for RB Leipzig left-back Marcelo Saracchi.

Leipzig will loan the 22-year-old Uruguayan to Galatasaray for one-and-a-half seasons. The deal does not include an option to buy which means Saracchi will return to the Bundesliga upon the expiration of the loan.

The German club’s sporting director Markus Krosche confirmed the transfer to German outlet BILD, revealing that only the paperwork to facilitate the transfer remains.

Galatasaray are expected to part ways with Japanese full-back Yuto Nagatomo, whose role will be filled by Saracchi.

Saracchi, capped 4 times by Uruguay’s senior national team, has made 7 appearances for Leipzig this season during which he scored 1 goal.

Cim Bom are also in advanced talks with their former player, Henry Onyekuru and his current employer AS Monaco whom he joined on a permanent deal in August 2019.

Galatasaray’s offer is an initial one-and-a-half year loan deal for the Nigerian winger, however, the Ligue 1 club are said to favour a six-month deal until the end of the season.

The Turkish club have not offered a transfer fee but they will cover the winger’s wages in its entirety.

Onyekuru is reported to be looking to reunite with Fatih Terim after a successful loan with Galatasaray during the 2018-2019 season,
