French defender Adil Rami wants to leave Fenerbahce

The former Marseille and Sevilla defender is hoping to leave Fenerbahce this month.

Fenerbahce defender Adil Rami is currently unsettled at the Istanbul club and has told the club’s administration that he wishes to leave the club, according to reports in Turkey.

The 34-year-old joined the Super Lig club in August 2019 on a one-year deal from French football giants Marseille on a free transfer.

However, he has been overlooked by Fenerbahce coach Ersun Yanal and has been limited to just one league appearance with a Fenerbahce uniform this season.

Rami is looking to leave Fenerbahce for a club where he will get more regular playing time and has instructed his agent to find him a new club.

Fenerbahce are reported to be willing to let the defender go as he is in the final six months of his contract.

Another player who is rumoured to be on the verge of leaving the club is central defender Mathias Jorgensen, or Zanka, as he is more commonly referred to in Turkey.

The Denmark international joined Fenerbahce for €2 million from English Championship outfit Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2019. Reports in Turkey claim the player’s one-on-one abilities are deemed inadequate by club coach Ersun Yanal and will subsequently be sold this month. Zanka’s former club, Huddersfield Town, have been touted as a possible destination.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce are being linked with a move for Frankfurt centre-back Simon Falette.

The 27-year-old Guinea international is reportedly in talks with the Turkish club regarding a short-term loan until the end of the season for which he will earn approximately €300,000.
