Lukas Podolski responds to Rizespor transfer rumour

The former Galatasaray forward has chimed in on the reports in Turkish media linking him with a move back to the Super Lig.

After being linked for several days with a transfer to Turkish Super Lig minnows Caykur Rizespor, former Germany international Lukas Podolski has finally responded to the reports.

Earlier this week on Monday, Podolski posted a Tweet in Turkish on his account shutting down the rumours of a move to the Northeastern Turkish football club.

“Excuse me, but who said I was interested in Rizespor? The only interesting thing in Rize is tea. Unless it’s from me, please do not entertain fake news about me,” he posted in Turkish on his Twitter account.

It seems Caykur Rizespor will have to look elsewhere in their search for an experienced forward.
