Yeni Malatyaspor sack Sergen Yalcin

The Super Lig club have parted ways with Turkish coach Sergen Yalcin.

After seeing his team defeated 4-0 at the hands of Sivasspor in the Turkish Cup yesterday, Sergen Yalcin has been told his services are no longer needed by Yeni Malatyaspor.

The Super Lig football club announced their decision to part ways with Sergen Yalcin on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the statement put forth by the club, the decision was made to sack the coach and his support staff after a meeting held by the club’s Board of Directors.

“We have decided to part ways with our technical manager Sergen Yalcin and his team as a result of the meeting we made with our Bourd of Directors. We thank him and his staff and wish him success in his career,” the statement read.

Yeni Malatyaspor have won just once in their last eight outings while the 47-year-old Turkish coach was in charge.

Turkish coach Unal Karaman, who was also sacked by Trabzonspor recently, has been widely tipped to be the club’s first choice as their next head coach.
