Ankaragucu transfer ban to be lifted

The capital club are in talks with several new players as they wait for their transfer ban to be lifted.

Turkish Super Lig outfit Ankaragucu are preparing to make their moves in the January transfer market despite them being banned from making any signings.

Reports from Turkey have emerged suggesting the club’s transfer ban will be lifted this week, just before the January transfer window closes later this week.

Ankaragucu President Fatih Mert confirmed the club is in talks with several players despite the transfer ban still being in place.

“Talks with players are ongoing. At the moment, the transfer ban is not lifted,” Mert said on Tuesday.

“There are six files left. Three of these are foreign players. Talks and negotiations are ongoing. We are in talks with players. No transfer ban has been lifted as of yet. When the transfer ban is lifted, we will let the public know,” the club’s president explained.

The Ankara-based club are reported to have agreed terms with Erzurumspor’s Rashad Muhammed, Venezuelan forward Eduard Bello and Istanbul Basaksehir midfielder Gokhan Inler.

The club also appointed a new manager on Tuesday, Mustafa Resit Akcay.

Aksay has signed on until the end of the season with an optional one-year extension if he can keep the team in the Super Lig.
