Ankaragucu coach issues hands-off warning over striker dever orgill

The capital club have no plans to sell their Jamaican striker Dever Orgill during the mid-season break.

Relegation battlers Ankaragucu wrapped up the year with a 2-2 draw at home against Denizlispor on Saturday thanks to a fine strike from midfielder Oscar Scarione in the final minutes of the game.

With just 12 points after 17 games, the club are in 17th place and have their work cut out for them after the winter break.

During the post-match press conference, the club’s coach Mustafa Kaplan shared his disappointment at the result and the club’s performance in the first half of the season but remained optimistic.

Kaplan also addressed the speculation surrounding their striker Dever Orgill who has been linked with a move away from the club in January.

“None of our players will leave. Only those who I do not like will leave. We will make serious decisions regarding this. Especially about Orgill and our opponents, I will say this; none of our players will leave. This applies to Orgill the most. He may think he will leave but he will definitely stay at Ankaragucu. No one should plan to take any of our players,” Kaplan said as he underlined the club’s intention to keep hold of their players.

“Ankaragucu is a big community. No one is above Ankaragucu. It is not right to have players who do not comply with the team’s discipline. We want to part ways with one or two of our players. Our management is trying hard to remove the transfer ban imposed on us. We have a transfer list. We need to sign six or seven players. We shared this information with our president,” he said.
