Brazilian left-back Andre Santos wants to retire in the Super Lig.

Former Arsenal and Fenerbahce left-back Andre Santos is currently plying his trade in the First League (1.Lig) with Boluspor. He is the captain of his team and is enjoying himself after having scored 14 goals in 38 appearances for the club. He has reguarly been deployed as a left winger.

The 34-year-old has gave interviews to Turkish reporters recently and has been quoted as saying he wishes to retire from football after playing in the Super Lig one more time.

While acknowledging he never became a famous name, he said; “During my time with Fenerbahce I have always been liked and here too I’ve been well received, well-liked. I also try to return the kindness. This is a positive and it gives me pride and makes me happy. Bolu is also a nice place where I receive a lot of attention. For this I thank everyone”.

Referring to his desire to retire in the Super Lig he continued; “Maybe I can finish in the Super Lig with Boluspor. I want to finish my career after playing in the Super Lig. Whether I will stay in football or not, I cannot say. But at the moment the priority for me is to finish in the best way possible.”.

Boluspor are currently 7th in the First League.
