Fatih Tekke takes over at Denizlispor

Turkish legend Fatih Tekke has taken over the reins at Denizlispor.

Fatih Tekke, who made his name as a top goalscorer with Trabzonspor in his heyday, has signed on as manager at the First League club until the end of the season. The club are currently 16th, in the relegation zone, and are trying to survive the drop.

Denizlispor had started the season with Yusuf Simsek in charge however after just six weeks had him replaced with Reha Erginer. Last week, the club parted ways with him also.

Tekke was quoted as saying, “Denizlispor have qualified staff. We will find a way out of the position we are in.”.

The new manager’s first game in charge will be against Giresunspor later this week.
