Besiktas will miss 2 for derby

Besiktas will be without two key players for their derby next week.

The Besiktas-Fenerbahce derby is going to be full of drama, as every Istanbul derby is, however this time Besiktas are already going into the match with a severe handicap. The club will be without central defender Pepe and attacking midfielder Talisca. Both players have been an integral part of Senol Gunes’s tactical plans and it will be interesting to see what changes their manager will make.

Referee Alper Ulusoy had no problems dishing out cards in tonight’s match between Besiktas and Konyaspor. The man in charge of the fixture cautioned Pepe with a yellow card in the 39th minute of the first half for his involvement in tussle with an opposition player. Talisca, on the other hand, received his yellow card at the 54th minute mark in the second half for a hard tackle.

The derby will take place in the Eagle’s Nest, also known as Vodafone Park, next week on February 25th. Both teams are neck-and-neck at 41 points a piece however Fenerbahce have a one game advantage.
