Besiktas to appeal Talisca suspension

Talisca suspension appealed

The Brazilian received a yellow card during last night’s fixture which means he will be suspended for next week’s derby.

During last night’s match contested between Konyaspor and Besiktas, Anderson Talisca received a yellow card for his protest to what he considered a bad refereeing decision. The player was fouled by an opposition player and Talisca was shocked at the referee’s lenient handle of the situation. Referee Alper Ulusoy, who officiated the fixture, received a fair share of criticism from fans and pundits on social media after the match.

The referee felt Talisca took things too far and cautioned him with a yellow card. This yellow card means Talisca will miss next week’s derby against Fenerbahce due to an automatic one-match suspension for picking up too many yellow cards during the season.

Besiktas have announced they will take the matter to the Turkish Football Federation and appeal the decision on the grounds that the yellow card was unfair.

The derby next week will be crucial for both teams as the race to be crown Super Lig champions heats up.

Besiktas are already without central defender Pepe due to an automatic one-match suspension for also picking up too many yellow cards. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce will be missing their left-back Hasan Ali Kaldirim for the same reason.
