Emperor interrupts team training

Emperor Faith Terim stops training

Fatih Terim laid down the law during his team’s training ahead of Galatasaray’s next match this weekend.

Galatasaray’s manager Fatih Terim, who is known to have a short temper, abruptly brought the team’s training to a halt after not being pleased with what he saw. The Emperor, as he is known in Turkey, had some strong words for his players who seemed unfocused during their preparations.

“We can’t afford to make anymore mistakes. I don’t to see a repeat of the mistakes you made against Kasimpasa. If we want to be champions, everyone has to give 100 percent. Whoever plays well, he will wear the shirt.”, the 64-year-old was heard saying to his players.

Galatasaray took a big set-back to their title challenge last round when they lost 2-1 away to local rivals Kasimpasa, a match which was overshadowed by a questionable penalty decision by the referee.

Ahead of their next match against Bursaspor, the Emperor made it clear there would be tactical changes to his gameplan including returning to a 4-3-3 formation and the inclusion of Belhanda in the starting 11 after having served his automatic one match suspension. The manager said he wants his players to be more aggressive and the forward line to play a bigger role in their defensive play.

Cim Bom are currently in 2nd place with 44 points, two behind league leaders Basaksehir.
