Bad news for Besiktas ahead of derby

Besiktas were the recipients of some bad news today as they prepare for the Fenerbahce derby this Sunday.

The Black Eagles filed an appeal with the Turkish Football Federation to cancel the yellow card given to Talisca during their encounter with Konyaspor in the last round. However, the final decision has been sustained thus leaving Talisca suspended for the derby.

Talisca had picked up four yellow cards this season prior to facing off against Konyaspor and since he was yellow carded in that match as well, it brought up the tally to five which meant an automatic one-match suspension.

Arguably their best player this season, Talisca will be supporting his team from the stands as Besiktas hopes to bounce back from their 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round-of-16 first leg earlier this week.
