Galatasaray’s Younes Belhanda had an overall good performance as his team thrashed Bursaspor 5-0 at their home, Turk Telekom Arena. However, the attacking midfielder’s night wasn’t without it’s downfalls as he unfortunately managed to injure two of his teammates; striker Eren Derdiyok and defender Ryan Donk.

The first unfortunate incident took place in the 49th minute while celebrating defender Serdar Azizs first goal of the season for the club. The defender found the back of the net, against his former club nonetheless, and as his teammates gathered around him Belhanda jumped on top of him for joy but accidentally poked Ryan Donk’s left eye with his finger. The finger-poke was so strong that Donk had to come off for a few minutes to be treated by the club’s medical personnel.

The second accidental injury, which was more serious for both to the player and the team, occurred in the 77th minute as Eren Derdiyok and Younes Belhanda both were chasing after the ball attempting to block an opposition player from passing. While they managed to succeed in blocking, Derdiyok fell and Belhanda jumped and landed on the player’s foot in the process of trying to move away from his teammate.

Derdiyok was left lying on the ground in pain as he signaled for the bench to come off. To make matters worse, the Swiss international who had come on as the third and final substitute just 2 minutes before that, was stretchered off and Galatasaray had to finish the rest of the match with 10 men.
