Olcay Sahan: ‘We have a chance to qualify’

Trabzonspor’s midfielder Olcay Sahan spoke optimistically about his team’s chances of qualifying for European competition this season.

After defeating Akhisar 3-1 away, Trabzonspor’s midfielder Olcay Sahan told reporters he is optimistic of qualifying for Europe.

The player said they would continue to fight to move up to fifth place in the Turkish super Lig and they want to play in Europe next season.

“We wanted to win the match. We’re going through a tough phase. Even if we don’t play for the title, Trabzonspor still needs to fight for the top. We have a chance to qualify for Europe, everything is in our hands. We may lose but we can’t give up. We have a chance for fifth.”

“We don’t have a chance to be champions but we still have a chance for Europe. Batuhan Artarslan didn’t have much of a chance to get into the team, but when he came on, everyone cheered. He’ll do good things in the Super Lig.”, said Sahan after the match.

His teammate Jose Sosa also spoke to reporters and had a few words to say;

“We played patiently and we did well. We were even better in the second half. We played intelligently and we got a nice win.”

Trabzonspor have started to slowly turn things around after a disastrous start to 2018 and are currently in 6th place with 39 points.
