Valbuena: I won’t leave Fenerbahce

Mathieu Valbuena clarifies rumors of him leaving Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce’s Mathieu Valbuena addressed the reports of him leaving the club due to a falling out with the club’s manager Aykut Kocaman.

Mathieu Valbuena has spoken to the press regarding the rumours speculating about his future at Fenerbahce.

“Until now, I’ve scored 6 goals and assisted 15 but since January my playing time has been reduced. There are no issues between myself and coach Aykut Kocaman. We are professionals. I continue to train as expected of me and do what the coach instructs me to do. We have to respected the manager’s decisions. I’m sure there are reasons behind his decisions. I haven’t thought about leaving Fenerbahce and I’m lucky to be at such a big club.”, Valbuena said regarding the matter.

He continued to dispell the rumors by saying;

“It didn’t even cross my mind to leave Fenerbahce. I’m very lucky to be at such a well-structured club. I came to Turkey because of the incredible passion of the fans. When I was at Marseille I knew about this, the profile of the fans is about the same.”

The 33-year-old also briefly spoke about the French national team;

“I won’t be at the World Cup but I will be supporting France through the television. I have a few doubts about the possibility of France winning the cup. I think Brazil, Germany and Spain have a better chance.”
