Galatasaray to open talks for Trezeguet

Galatasaray have opened talks for Kasimpasa's Trezeguet

Turkish giants Galatasaray S.K. will reportedly open talks with Anderlecht over a deal to sign Egypt international Mahmoud Trezeguet.

The 23-year-old is having the best season of his career, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 26 games with Turkey’s Kasimpasa.

Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is a big fan of the Egyptian and wants to sign him next summer to replace Garry Rodrigues, who is close to leaving to either Newcastle United or Everton, according to reports in Turkey.

The former Al Ahly winger will probably wait until after the World Cup in case his performances with the national team attract the attention of a top-five league club, especially with the player revealing that he wishes to play in the Premier League or the Bundesliga.

Trezeguet started his football career at Egypt giants Al Ahly in 2012, donning the famous red shirt until 2015, winning two CAF Champions Leagues, the 2014 Confederation Cup, one league title, and two Egypt Super Cups.

Overall he made 87 appearances for the Red Devils, before joining Anderlecht, however, he endured a difficult start to life with Belguim’s most successful club, as after just 11 appearances, he was loaned out to Royal Excel Mouscron and then Kasimpasa.

However, his time on loan saw him impressing, scoring 18 goals while providing 10 assists in 54 appearances with the two clubs across all competitions. Trezeguet helped massively in helping Egypt qualify for the 2018 World Cup after winning two crucial penalties during the qualifiers, including a last-gasp penalty against Congo that earned the Pharaohs their qualification for the World Cup.
