Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz: No agreement for Nagatomo yet

The club’s president, Mustafa Cengiz, put an end to the rumours as he explained there was still no agreement for the transfer of Yuto Nagatomo.

Super Lig champions still haven’t come to an agreement with Serie A outfit Inter for the transfer of Japanese full-back Yuto Nagatomo, the Turkish club’s president, Mustafa Cengiz, told journalists today.

“Transfer talks are ongoing but we have no agreement regarding Yuto Nagatomo yet. If there is any agreement with the player and Inter, the transfer will be made public on our official website and all of our media will announce it our fans and the public,” the club president explained during a gathering in the resort town of Bodrum, Turkey.

Both clubs have been going back and forth for weeks as they try to come to some sort of middle ground over the transfer fee.

The Italians are asking for a little more than €4 million while the Turks are not willing to pay anything above €2 million.

The Japanese international has settled into his role in Istanbul and has made it clear to Inter’s administration that he would like to remain with the Super Lig champions.
