Galatasaray to sell Luis Cavanda to Standard Liege

The Super Lig champions are in advanced talks with the Belgian club to off-load their defender Luis Pedro Cavanda.

Belgian defender Luis Pedro Cavanda will be sold to Standard Liege, according to sources close to the Turkish club.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with the Belgian outfit where he did well enough to convince the club’s management to sign him on a permanent deal.

The two clubs are in talks over a transfer fee, a figure rumoured to be around €1,500,000.

Cavanda has agreed to move to Belgium, where he is guaranteed to be a first-team starter.

During his loan, Standard Liege had the option of purchasing the player for €1.5 million however that clause expired on May 20th.

A deal is expected to be announced in the coming days, with the defender putting pen to paer on a three-year contract.

Luis moved to Galatasaray for €1.8 million back in August 2016 from Super Lig rivals Trabzonspor, however he was shipped out the following season on loan due to incosistent performances.
