Vincent Aboubakar unlikely to return to Besiktas - report

Porto’s striker Vincent Aboubakar had been reported to be on the verge of a return to Istanbul earlier this week but sources say otherwise.

After experiencing difficulties replacing their hitman Cenk Tosun, the Black Eagles made signing a reliable goalscorer a top priority this summer. Vincent Aboubakar was one of the names on their list.

Earlier this week, reports claimed the former Besiktas player was close to making a shock return to Istanbul.

The Cameroon international is open to the idea however Porto are asking for a monetary figure the Turkish cannot afford. Besiktas were hoping for a season-long loan with an option to buy where as the Portugese club would prefer to cash in on the African star.

Unless Porto reduce their demands, the transfer will not take place. Besiktas have already focused their attention on other forwards as the summer transfer window is set to open on July 1st.

In 2016, Besiktas paid €2.5 million to bring the Cameroon international to Istanbul for a one year loan.
