Galatasaray in talks for Everton's Henry Onyekuru

The Turkish club are in advanced talks with Everton for their Nigerian forward Onyekuru.

Galatasaray are close to signing Everton forward Henry Onyekuru on a one-year loan.

The Turkish Super Lig powerhouse announced via their official Twitter account as well as to national media outlets that the they are negotiating with the English club for the promising striker.

The Lions’ boss Fatih Terim revealed that the young forward has been on their radar for some time.

“Onyekuru is a player we’ve been tracking since last January. He spent last season on loan. He scored goals for Anderlecht, he played in the Champions League. Sometimes he plays alongside another forward, sometimes behind one. It’s an economically feasibly transfer and we are hopeful,” the experienced coach said.

The 21-year-old is a pacey forward who has good off-the-ball movement and decision making abilities, which would make him a suitable candidate for the number 9 position in the Turkish club’s squad.

The Nigerian youngster spent last season on loan with Belgian side Anderlecht where he scored an impressive 10 goals in 28 appearances.
