Bobo leaves Sydney FC for Alanyaspor

Sydney FC striker Bobo signs for Alanyaspor

The Brazilian striker has returned to the Super Lig but this time with Alanyaspor.

Rogerio da Silva, known as Bobo, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with Alanyaspor, the club announced earlier today.The former Besiktas striker has arrived from Australian club Sydney FC where he spent a successful two years, scoring 42 goals in 57 appearances.

The Brazilian won the the A-League’s golden boot last season with a record 27 goals.

The 33-year-old is well known in Turkey, having played 5 years for Besiktas where he scored many memorable goals as well as becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer.

He also played for Kayserispor for three years and left with a solid goal ratio there before leaving the Super Lig to move to the land down under.

During the signing ceremony at the club’s facilities in Alanya, the player told reporters he views Turkey as “his second home” and used the words “homeland” and “back home” when referring to his return to Turkey’s top flight.
