Barcelona’s Douglas joins Sivasspor on loan

The Brazilian defender has moved to the Super Lig club for a one-year loan.

Barcelona defender Douglas Pereira Dos Santos, or Douglas for short, will play for Sivasspor in the upcoming season.

The move was confirmed by both clubs on their social media accounts.

The out-of-favour Brazilian defender has agreed to move to Turkey, where he is guaranteed first-team football, something he has been lacking at the La Liga powerhouse.

He will join another Brazilian at the club, former Real Madrid star Robinho.

Sivasspor will cover almost all of the player’s wages during the duration of the loan.

The 27-year-old moved to Barcelona from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2014 but has been loaned out every year after failing to cement a regular starting place.

With just one year left on his contract, it’s almost certain he will leave Barcelona next summer.
