Samuel Eto’o could leave Konyaspor

The Anatolian Eagles could part ways with their star striker before the new season begins.

Konyaspor boss Riza Calimbay has revealed the club are preparing for life without Samuel Eto’o.

Due to an increasing financial hardship, the club could be forced to part ways with the former Barcelona striker.

“There is an issue with Eto’o. The wages he receives disrupt the balance of the team and the club’s management is not looking at the situation positively,” Riza said.

Samuel has been linked with a move to a France recently, with reports from France claiming there have been contacts from French clubs regarding the player’s availability.

The two major leagues he has not played in are the German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1. Given that he speaks French, it would make France the more likely destination over the two should he leave Turkey.
