Besiktas terminate Veli Kavlak's contract

The Black Eagles have released Kavlak from their squad after terminating his deal.

Besiktas have parted ways with midfielder Veli Kavlak.

The club’s management offered the Austrian-born Turkish player a reduction in salary in order to remain with the team. The proposal was for €1 million, a decrease from his annual salary of €1.7 million but the player rejected their offer.

Besiktas, after failing to convince Veli, decided to terminate his contract and let him go.

He had one year left on his contract prior to being released.

The 29-year-old joined the Istanbul club in 2011 from Rapid Wien for €750,000 but had been sidelined with constant injuries for the past three seasons, making just one appearance in total.
