Fenerbahce offer to loan Omer Toprak from Borussia Dortmund

The Yellow Canaries have made an offer to take Omer Toprak on a season-long loan.

Fenerbahce’s director of football Damien Comolli has spoken with his counerpart at Borussia Dortmund, Michael Zorc, about signing defender Omer Toprak on a one-year loan.

The proposal has been turned down, however, with Zorc suggesting they were only willing to part ways with their player if it was a sale, not a loan. Toprak transferred to the German club for €12 million from rivals Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017.

Fenerbahce boss Phillip Cocu has asked, in addition to a striker, for two defenders as he hopes to strengthen his defensive line ahead of the new campaign, with the only centre-backs in the squad being Skrtel and Neustadter.
