Gokhan Gonul injured, removed from Turkey squad

The Turkish right-back has picked up a shoulder injury during training and has been removed from the international squad.

Just days ahead of Turkey’s clash with Russia and Sweden in the UEFA Nations League, Besiktas right-back Gokhan Gonul has suffered a shoulder injury in training.

The Turkish Football Federation have released a statement, notifying fans of the unfortunate incident.

“Besiktas right-back Gokhan Gonul has been removed from the squad due to a shoulder injury and will be unavailable for the Russia and Sweden matches.”

It’s uncertain if coach Mircea Lucescu will call up a replacement or if he will stick with the player’s he’s already decided on.
