Seleznyov: I begged to go to Galatasaray

Akigo’s striker Yevgen Seleznyov wants to swap clubs with Galatasaray but his transfer request has been blocked.

Akhisarspor goalscorer Yevgen Seleznyov was on the cusp of a deadline day transfer to Galatasaray only for his club’s president to block the move.

The Lions, in need of an experienced striker, made signing the 33-year-old a priority and put forth an offer for his transfer.

However, Akhisarpor’s administration were not interested in selling their star player.

Regarding the proposal, he said;

“There was an offer on the last day of the transfer window. I begged the president to let me go because it’s my dream to play for Galatasaray. But they didn’t listen to me nor Galatasaray. They didn’t give me permission.”

He went on to explain the situation;

“They told me ‘even if we receive an offer for a million, we won’t sell you’. If I must be honest, it made me frustrated. But on the other hand, it shows that they want me. As I said, however, playing for Galatasaray is my dream.”
